About Gracie
Gracie is a gentle giant who's still learning to feel safe in the world. She is under-confident, but her love of food is helping her come out of her shell - she's even started to hand target when rewarded! While she doesn't yet know any formal cues, she's showing a growing interest in engaging with people she trusts. Gracie is quite attached to her handlers and prefers to stay close, she will need training to build her confidence being alone. She's still getting used to touch and can be head-shy or move away. She'll need a patient, experienced home that can help build her confidence at her pace, especially around other dogs. With the right calm, well-matched canine companion, she may thrive - pending a slow, successful meet-and-greet. Gracie may need her own safe space (like a crate and gated area), and have structured, slow introductions to her family and to strangers. While she's sensitive and cautious, she's also incredibly sweet and eager to bond. She is not suited to a home with small children due to her size and lack of confidence. If you can offer Gracie the time, patience, and calm environment she needs to blossom, she could be your perfect companion.
