About Eric
Eric is a lively, social young dog who loves being around people and soaking up attention. He's full of personality and has plenty of potential, but he's going to need a very committed and experienced owner to help guide him as he grows.
At this stage, Eric is still learning about boundaries and manners. He can be quite mouthy in play and snatchy with food or toys, so he'll benefit greatly from consistent training and structure. Building his impulse control will be key to helping him mature into the best version of himself.
Eric enjoys the company of other dogs but doesn't always read their signals well. He has a tendency to persist on play until it escalates, so careful management and ongoing social skills training will be important. For now he is best suited to a single dog only home. He may also bark at unfamiliar sights and sounds, making him a bit of an "alarm barker" at times.
Due to his strong fixation on poultry in his previous home, Eric is not suited to living with chickens or other small pets. He'll do best in a home with no small animals.
This boy will thrive with an adopter who can dedicate the time, patience, and consistency he needs. Teens and older only, given his current behaviours. With the right guidance, Eric will grow into a wonderful companion who loves being involved in daily life and family activities.
