About Petunia

Petunia is a sweet, timid girl who needs a calm and patient introduction to her new home. She should be started in a small launch room and given time to settle before exploring the rest of the house, as large open spaces can easily overwhelm her. Providing plenty of scratch posts, cat trees, hides such as cardboard boxes or cat igloos, and access to shelves or dressers will give her safe spaces both high and low.
Petunia would thrive with a patient and understanding adopter who recognizes she may take time to show her true personality. She may do well with a calm, social cat, as she came into the shelter with another feline companion.
Since arrival, Petunia has made lovely progress-initially very nervous, she is slowly coming around, enjoying gentle affection and even meowing to communicate. A home with teens or older children who can read basic cat body language and give her space when needed would be ideal. With time, love, and understanding, Petunia will blossom into a confident and affectionate companion.
