About Abbey
Abbey is a people‑loving, affectionate older girl who still has plenty of spark. She enjoys being involved in whatever her humans are doing and can become quite excitable around her family. She loves enrichment toys and interactive games like tug‑of‑war, happily stopping when asked.
She can be wary of unfamiliar dogs and would need a meet‑and‑greet if joining a home with another dog. She has lived successfully with a dog of similar age and has walked calmly alongside social dogs, though she doesn't seek much interaction. Abbey prefers to eat her food without other dogs around, so it is recommended to feed Abbey separately if she goes home with a dog friend.
Abbey is used to a mix of indoor and outdoor living. Previously she hasn't lived inside full‑time, but she enjoys following her humans around the yard, staying nearby to investigate what is going on. On walks, she'll come over for affection when you stop, and when given the cue to explore, she's happy to wander off and investigate her surroundings.
She has a strong prey drive for small animals, so she isn't suited to a home with cats or small pets. Although, she has lived around livestock previously without issue.
