About Jake

Jake is a sweet 9-year-old Border Collie mix with a heart of gold.
While he finds the shelter environment a bit overwhelming, he's highly food-motivated, and the way to his heart is through treats and a good game of fetch! He already knows sit, shake, and lay down.
Jake will need some time to settle into his new home and build trust with his new owner. He has a history of reacting to other dogs, but his previous owner successfully managed this by walking him at quieter times.
In a calm, structured home, Jake has the potential to feel more secure. He recently met a Husky, where he was tolerant but chose to disengage, showing he prefers his own space.
Jake will thrive with an owner who understands his needs and is willing to use force-free methods to help reduce his anxiety.
