About Luna
Luna is a large, loving girl with a heart just as big. She's full of affection and is looking for a home where she can thrive in a calm, structured environment.
Luna can become easily overwhelmed in new settings and may show signs of stress and over-arousal. She'll benefit greatly from continued work on basic cues and learning how to relax. Touch helps her decompress (she especially enjoys a good shoulder massage) and she often carries her toys around for comfort when she's feeling nervous.
She will do best in a quiet home where she is included as part of the family, allowed indoors, and given consistency and routine to help her feel secure. Ideally, she'd be with someone who is home more often than not, as she thrives on companionship and connection.
Luna is a smart girl and already knows "sit," "down," and "shake." She would be best matched with calm, older teens who can respect her space and energy levels.
Luna is best suited as the only dog in the home. While she has lived with another dog in the past, her previous owner noted that she can be "a lot" around other dogs. She tends to be tense and has a low tolerance for dogs who are overly energetic or invasive. While she *may* tolerate a calm, respectful canine companion with proper introductions, her ideal situation is one where she can be the sole pet and center of attention. Luna must meet any other dogs before adoption.
Luna is truly a special dog looking for a patient and loving home that understands her needs and can provide her the stability she deserves. If you think you have room in your heart for Luna, she can't wait to meet you!
