About Cardinal

Hi there! My name is Cardinal, but all my friends call me Cardi—and I’d love for you to be one of them. I’ve been in care for a little while now, waiting ever so patiently for my forever family to find me. I know they’re out there, and my heart is full of hope that maybe it’s you.

I’m a gentle, sweet-natured boy who just needs a little time to feel safe and settled. New people can make me a little nervous at first, so I prefer to say hello in my own time. But once I feel comfortable? I’ll happily soak up gentle pats and lean in for a cuddle—especially if you’ve got a cozy spot on the couch or a sunny patch on the floor. I’m not the kind of pup who’s all over you straight away, but I promise that once we’ve built that trust, my love runs deep.

Because I like my space and peace and quiet, I’d do best in a home with kids aged 12 and up—little ones can be a bit too much for me sometimes. I’d also love to meet everyone in the family before I come home, just to make sure we’re all a perfect fit.

And while I can walk near other dogs without any trouble, I’d really prefer to be your one and only. I’ve had a not-so-nice experience with other pups in the past, and I feel safest and happiest when I don’t have to share my home with them. I’m more than enough love for one household anyway!
