Hey there! My name is Luca!

I came into the RSPCA as a young puppy with my litter mates and to begin with I was very scared of the shelter environment, but overtime I have learnt that the humans are REALLY nice to me. I've learnt that I like food and with positive reinforcement training, they have taught me new exciting things like how to sit, how to walk on a leash and I have discovered the best thing EVER... pig's ears!

There is lots of talk of our new families and what they will be like. I'm dreaming of a family who are patient with me and understand that I haven't had a family before, so everything will be a little new to me and they will help me get through it with love and care so I can be the BEST dog to them for the rest of my life in return!

Often people think socializing your puppy means taking them out to lots of places and getting them used to things but sometimes this can just be a really overwhelming experience. We could just start by going out the front of our home and you can reward me for looking at things like cars, other dogs and people walking past. This will allow me to create positive associations with these things without putting me in places where I am already uncomfortable.

I've met some non-human friends here at the shelter too and I like them too. If you have a doggy friend at home, I would love to be a little sibling and have a calm, older dog be able to show me the ropes to entering the family too.
