About Bella
Bella is a bright, energetic young Jack Russell Terrier looking for a home that understands her sensitive side and unique needs. At just 11 months old, she’s still learning about the world and will thrive with experienced, patient adopters who can guide her with consistency and kindness.
Bella enjoys human interaction and will often approach for affection, but she can become overstimulated with too much touch or handling. It’s important that she always has the option to walk away and decompress. She can also be a little nervous when meeting new people, so she’ll need to meet all family members before adoption to ensure she feels comfortable and safe.
Bella has displayed resource guarding around high-value chews, so her new family will need to respect her space during mealtimes and chew sessions. For this reason, she is best suited to a home with children aged 15+ who can understand and follow clear boundaries.
When it comes to other dogs, Bella is social but her greetings can be high-energy and a bit intense. She must meet any resident dogs to ensure their play styles and energy levels are a good match. She would not do well in off-leash dog parks, where her enthusiasm might overwhelm other dogs.
Bella will need someone home most of the time, as she’s shown some mild stress when left alone. She’s also not yet house trained, so her new family will need to be prepared to work on that with her using gentle, positive methods. A quiet home is essential—Bella is sensitive to loud noises and would not cope well in a busy or high-traffic environment.
For her safety, Bella needs secure fencing—nothing climbable or with height restrictions—as she is young, agile, and may try to explore if left alone and bored. She also needs indoor/outdoor access. She doesn't cope well with long periods in open outdoor spaces without something to engage her.
Playtime with Bella can be lots of fun, but she can get over-aroused and frustrated if it goes on too long. Short, structured play sessions with decompression time afterward help her stay calm and happy.
Bella is a smart, affectionate pup who needs the right environment to truly shine. With structure, patience, and lots of love, she’ll make a loyal and lively companion. If you think your home is the right match, enquire today and give Bella the fresh start she deserves!
