About Pecan

Hi there, I'm Pecan! I'm a pint sized nut looking for someone to help me learn all about life in a home environment. I AM CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME AND YOU WILL NEED TO FILL OUT THE APPLICATION FORM BELOW TO MEET ME.

Being this small has it's challenges and I need my new people to really understand me before we move in together. I'm interested in people and I do want to be near you, but I don't love it when you get all handsy without my permission so you're going to really need to keep a lid on all that love you have to give until I'm ready. If you sit down at my level and just wait, I will come around eventually.

I've really enjoyed having doggy friends in my foster home, but they were a bit scary at first. I can be a bit of a slow burn at the beginning. I don't know how to walk on a lead or even wear a collar and I don't like to be picked up so you have to have a plan for getting me to do what you need and that plan will need to involve lots of patience!

Here's the kicker - I only just got desexed and when I don't feel safe or sure of things, I wee on things to mark out my space and help me feel safer. It's getting better, but it's a part of who I am, so you will need to be patient and understand that it isn't a toilet training issue, it's a safety and confidence problem! But I'm looking for a home with no carpet just to make things easier!

I find small children scary, so I am looking for a fairly quiet and consistent home with older kids if any. I will bark when alarmed and I startle easily. I'm unlikely to be a cafe dog anytime soon... it's just not my jam. Strange people and strange places are all too overwhelming. I'm a busy little guy, so it's easy to think that I'm happy and brave when really I'm fidgeting like crazy and trying to cope! I'm more of a homebody hang out on the couch kind of man - keep things predictable and simple.
