About Duke

Hey there, I’m Duke!

I know what you're thinking, I am a pretty big boy, however I am gentle and calm boy at heart. I have been lucky enough to spend some time in foster care and learn about home life and my true personality is starting to shine through! You see, I may take a little bit to warm up to you, but when I do, I am forever loyal and adore you! I just need a family who is patient and caring, who can continue to teach me about home life and what being a normal dog is like. I already have one part down pat, I really enjoy playing with toys! In my foster home, I have an afternoon zoomie play, it is so much fun! And a really nice way for us to build our bond. You see the world can feel a little too big and confusing sometimes, so I’m taking things one step at a time, with soft voices, slow introductions, and a lot of patience.

New people, noises, and environments can be overwhelming for me, which is why I would love to meet all family members before heading home. I’m still figuring out how to interact with other dogs as well. Would be really great if I can have a home and all your attention to myself at this stage! And because I am a bit of a nervous nelly, I would like a home that is quieter and calmer, to help me feel safe and settle in at my own pace. Also if I may, a must have for me is indoor and outdoor access with a yard. I am more of an outside dog at this point, it helps me feel more comfortable, and over time we can explore the inside together!
