My name is Shadow, and I’m a sleek, handsome black domestic short hair with a big heart — even if I take a little time to show it. I’m currently living in a loving foster home where I’ve been learning to trust, relax, and enjoy the good life, one chin scratch at a time.

At first, I may be a little shy and unsure in a new environment. Loud noises and too many new faces can make me a bit nervous. That’s why I’m looking for a calm, peaceful home with patient humans who will give me the time I need to settle in. I’d do best in a household with children over 6, as I prefer things a bit quieter.

Once I feel safe, my sweet and curious personality really shines. I’m a chatty guy, and I love to "talk" to my humans, especially around mealtime — because, let’s be honest, I’m very food motivated. Treats are the key to my heart!

I enjoy affection, but I like it on my own terms. I’m not a fan of being picked up, but chin scratches? Yes, please! I’ll happily curl up next to you in bed at night and keep you company while you sleep. I’m a gentle soul who just wants to feel safe and loved.

I also live with another cat in my foster home, and I get along just fine — so if you already have a friendly feline, I’d be open to having a buddy. I love to watch birds from the window, stretch out in my window hammock, zoom up a tall cat tower, and scratch away on my cardboard scratchers. These little things make my days bright and happy.
