About Mikey

Mikey came into care as a rather worried little chap, but somewhere along the way he discovered that life is actually pretty great, and he has since appointed himself the official Director of Fun. And honestly, he's taking the role very seriously.

Mikey is smart as a tack, funny as can be and absolutely obsessed with training and learning new things. If you've got treats, a training plan or even just a vague suggestion that something interesting might happen, Mikey is ALL EARS.

Well, technically, he's all ears most of the time anyway. Those ears have a personality of their own, and we're fairly certain they occasionally operate independently of the rest of his body.

He's also got a smile that could sell ice to eskimos and a personality that is rapidly outgrowing his physical dimensions.

Mikey has been settles beautifully into office life and is discovering the finer things in life. He loves a good indoor snooze and is quite happy to curl up while his human works away at the computer. He's basically mastered the art of being a professional work-from-home colleague. Productivity may vary, particularly if snacks are involved.

Now, Mikey does have one small area of ongoing professional development: visitor management. When exciting people arrive, he can get a little carried away with the celebrations. Apparently, the arrival of a visitor is not simply someone coming over for a cup of tea. It's a national event. There should be balloons. Possibly a marching band. Definitely a very enthusiastic bully-breed welcome committee. He's learning that not everyone needs a full red-carpet reception, and that sometimes a simple hello will suffice.

Mikey would love to find humans who enjoy getting out and about, exploring the world and having a bit of fun. He walks quite nicely on lead and would be a fantastic companion for adventures.

He's looking for a robust home with people who appreciate a dog with a big, fun personality, plenty of enthusiasm and an impressive commitment to making every day entertaining.

Mikey will need humans who can continue his training, give him a little guidance when his excitement gets the better of him and, most importantly, aren't expecting a particularly subtle or understated canine companion.

He's come a long way from the worried boy who first arrived in care, and we'd love to see him find a home where he can keep growing and showing off all the wonderful things that make him such a character.

In summary: Mikey is clever, hilarious, enthusiastic, exceptionally smiley and equipped with satellite-dish ears. He's ready for his next adventure, preferably with someone who has a good sense of humour, a pocket full of treats and absolutely no objections to living with a dog who really is the best boy.

Because let's be honest… he probably is. ❤️
