About Mick
Hello there, my name is Mick! I'm a shy but enthusiastic young man looking for my new home!
I'd suit a home with experienced owners who have plenty of patience and understanding and can read doggy body language and know when I might need a break. I am looking for a place where I can be included as part of the family, coming both inside and outdoors, as well as joining you for daily walks once I've settled in, or simply snuggling up on a nice soft bed by your feet in the evening.
Any children in the home will need to be over 12 years of age and confident around dogs, as I can become a bit jumpy when I am excited but I'm working on this and getting better each day. I have not had the best start to life so can be a little shy when first meeting, but if you take your time with me, I know we will be the best of friends!
There is still much to learn about this big, beautiful world and I can't wait for you to show me the ropes. I would benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training to help me be the best dog I can be and there are so many activities we can do together in the backyard. The staff here will be able to give you plenty of pointers regarding skills that would help me in my new home.
I know sometimes you have to go out, if you leave me with some fun toys, yum treats, fresh water bowl and a sheltered, snuggly bed, I should be safe and happy until you get home. I love my daily enrichment and interactive feeders as these help keep my mind and body active, plus there's always great snacks hidden in them, what a win!
I get along well with other dogs of a similar, playful and exuberant nature, so if you have another dog at home, please bring them in to meet me to make sure we will be friends.
If I sound like the young man for you, please note I am not in the general adoption area.
