About Pepper

Hi there, I’m Sweet Pea! I’m a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair. I’m not the biggest fan of big changes, so it might take me a little while to warm up to you—but once I do, you’ll see just how sweet I can be. I really love to play, especially with anything that moves or makes a sound. Feather toys are my favorite, and I could chase them all day if you let me!

I’ve had a bit of a rough past, and because of that, I’m a little cautious about new people and new situations. I’m looking for someone who understands me and is willing to let me take things at my own pace. I need a patient owner who knows how to read cat behavior and can give me space when I need it. An adult-only home would be ideal for me—somewhere calm and consistent, where I don’t have to worry about too much chaos.

I’m also better suited to an indoor-only lifestyle. I feel safer and more comfortable inside, away from the unpredictability of the outdoors. While I’m in the shelter, I’ve been on some behavior medication to help me feel more relaxed and reduce stress, and I think it’s been helping a lot.
