About Rocky

Hi everybody! My name is Rocky and it's awesome to meet you!

I'm on the search for a loving home with a family who really gets me and what I need and will put in the time and effort to make the happiest boy I can be. I'm hoping you're the one for me!

I came from a place where I didn't always feel the safest and so now I can find it hard to trust new people. I need to take things slow and have my boundaries respected or I can begin to feel very overwhelmed. I prefer games with toys to cuddles and I and still pretty sensitive to being touched too much, especially around the head. It is important my new family understand this and are happy for me to love them in the ways that make me feel safest like sharing our space together and having a play with the squeaky toys.

I've been a pretty brave boy and I'm very good at communicating when I'm feeling uncomfortable so we should be able to respect each other just fine!

Although I don't fully look the part I've also got plenty of that corgi charm flowing through me, that mean at heart I'm a herding dog and my family will need to be aware of what this means and how it will guide what makes me happy in life. I can sometimes startle at new things and I will give them a peace of my mind from a nice safe distance. I do really well with a guiding hand to show me things aren't too scary so it would be great if my new family can do that for me.

I've met a couple of dogs here at the shelter and I look like I really want to be friends but I'm still searching for my bestie so if you have a social pup at home make sure you bring them in so we can get to know each other before heading off to our new life together.
