About Purple

Hi there! I’m Purple, a chonky 5-year-old female Staffy, and I’m looking for my forever home! Let me tell you a bit about myself:

I’m a pretty relaxed girl, and I’m happiest when I’m chilling on the couch with you, but I also enjoy a nice walk to stretch my legs. I’m not too demanding—just a calm companion who enjoys life at a comfortable pace. I’m pretty good when it comes to interacting with people. I’m large and loveable, but I promise I’m not a handful once you get to know me! I would do best to go home with another calm dog that doesn't care too much about playing as I'm a chill, mellow gal that is happy to co-exist and go for nice calm walks. If you have another dog at home, please bring them into the shelter so the team can organise a play date to ensure we will be best friends!

Here’s what I need from my new home:

Someone home more often than not – I do okay when left alone outside for a little while, but when I’m inside or in unfamiliar places, I can get a bit stressed. So it would be great if you can be home with me more often when I first settle in. Once I get comfortable, I’ll be much better, but I’ll need that extra time and patience during the transition.

A meet-and-greet with any kids in the home – I’ve done well with kids before, and I think I’d be great in a home with children. It’s just best that all the kids meet me first to make sure we’re all a good match. I like to be treated with respect, and I’m happy to be around people as long as they understand my body language. Let’s make sure we chat about how to interact with me properly!

A meet-and-greet with any other dogs – I can be playful and social when I find the right match. I go on lots of walks with other dogs at the shelter, and I’ve had a blast! I’ll need a slow introduction to any resident pups to make sure we get along.

Outdoor access is a must – I’ve been a bit more comfortable in outdoor spaces, and I think I’d love having a yard to relax in. I did much better settling into a yard at the shelter than I did in my kennel, so it’s important that my new home has easy access to outdoor space where I can hang out and be chill.

6ft Colorbond fencing – I came in as a stray, so it’s best to have secure fencing around the yard. I need the extra security to make sure I stay safe and sound.
