About Daisy
Introducing our gorgeous Staffy x Dachshund girl Daisy. Daisy came into our care from a remote property with her litter of pups. Her puppies have all since been adopted out to their forever families and now it’s Daisy’s turn!
Daisy is a very sweet, gentle girl who’s looking for a loving home to spend the rest of her life. Daisy lived most of her young life in a backyard, with no exposure to the outside world. She didn’t have any interactions with people, and didn’t get a chance to experience new places. As a result, Daisy finds the big wide world quite intimidating, and will need a patient, caring owner to help support her through this transition into home life. She has built very strong relationships with her handlers at BARC, looking to them for guidance and support as she navigates the shelter environment. With time and patience, we know she’ll be able to bond with her new family as well.
Daisy will be best suited to a quiet and calm, adult only household, where she will have the consistency and predictability she needs to feel safe and secure. Once Daisy has bonded to you, she is very affectionate and enjoys cuddles, backyard exploration and nap time in the sunshine. One of Daisy’s favourite activities is sniffing in the grass. She will potter around the backyard with her nose to the ground, trying to find any new surprises hidden out there. Daisy will need a home with secure outdoor access, minimal stairs to navigate, and an indoor space for Daisy to call her own. Daisy would also suit a home with no other animals, so she can soak up all the love and attention for herself!
Daisy is an unusual crossed breed, with a Staffy head and torso, and little Dashie legs. With her unusual body composition, Daisy comes with some pain in her front legs, as well as mild hip dysplasia. She is currently on pain management, which has really helped her to build confidence in her mobility, and has helped to expand her world. Pain management is something Daisy will need ongoing in her life and her new family will need to be open to discussing this with their local vets.
