About Milo
Hey there! I’m Milo, a super sweet and slightly bashful chocolate lab with more love to give than I even know what to do with. I may be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I have so much love to give. My temperament is on the timid side, but I promise I’ll quickly show you just how big my heart is! I might need some extra patience to adjust, but if you're kind and understanding, we'll be the best of friends.
I’m a huge fan of water—like, if there’s a puddle, a lake, or a good splashy puddle, I’m IN-- just like any lab would! I’m also a big fan of toys, and I have this thing where I pick them up, carry them around like they’re my personal treasures, and toss them in the air like a little goofball. I mean, who wouldn’t want a dog who can entertain himself AND you with just a squeaky toy?
But here’s the deal: I’m a sensitive guy. I can get overwhelmed with too much touch, and before you know it, I’m rolling over, showing my belly like “hey, I’m just chillin' here, please don’t hurt me!” I’m not trying to be dramatic, but I need a family who gets that I might need a bit of space. I don't know how to move away when I’m feeling uncomfortable, which means I need people who can read my body language and give me the space I need when I’m feeling this way (don’t worry, I’ll still be your biggest fan from afar). So, I’m looking for a home with no kiddos, a home where the family is fully aware of how to interact with me in a way that respects my boundaries and won’t expect me to be a party animal when I’m more of a “lounge and nap in my safe space” kind of guy.
It’s really important that everyone in the family meets me before adopting me. I want to make sure that everyone understands how to interact with me in a way that makes me feel safe and loved. Sometimes I may look like I’m asking for belly rubs, but I’m actually feeling overwhelmed. So, I need a family who can respect my needs and approach me gently.
Also, I’m definitely a one-dog kind of guy right now. I’ve lived with other dogs before, but let’s just say I’m more of a “fly solo” kind of pup. I get a little nervous and don’t quite know how to handle doggy roommates. I’d love to be the only dog in the house so I can get comfy and build my confidence. No doggy drama, just me and my humans, living the good life!
So, if you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, and slightly dramatic companion who LOVES water, toys, and has a very big heart (just maybe a shy one at first), I’m your guy! Let’s splash around, play, and I’ll show you what a loyal, loveable lab looks like. ❤️
