About Roo

Hi there! I'm Roo, an adorable 8-month-old Kelpie boy with a heart full of energy and excitement. I'm your typical Kelpie – super playful, enthusiastic, and always up for a game of fetch (I’ve already mastered it at my young age!). I love saying hello to new people, and I’m super friendly, though I can be a little bit shy sometimes because I’m still learning about the big wide world around me.

I haven’t had a lot of experience outside of my rural home yet, but I’m ready to take on new adventures and learn as I go! I know I have a lot of potential to be an amazing companion, and I’m looking for someone who can help guide me along the way.

Here’s what I need from my new family:

• Must meet all Children: I’m happy to meet kids in the home. I haven’t had much exposure yet, but I’m generally good with touch – just a little bit of pawing up sometimes. I’m still learning, so some patience while I get used to things is appreciated.
• Must meet all Dogs: I’ve lived with another dog before, so I’m used to having a canine buddy around. I’m a little unsure and conflicted with some dogs, though. I did okay with some match-ups during my time here, but I might need some guidance. I’d thrive with a calm and confident older dog who can show me the ropes.
• No Cats or Pocket Pets: I’m not a fan of cats or small animals. I like to try to chase pigeons around shelter. So, I’m afraid I need a home without any cats or pocket pets to ensure I’m not scaring any little critters.
• Indoor/outdoor access and Breed Knowledge desirable: I’m a young working breed with a lot of energy and drive. I grew up on a rural property and haven’t had much exposure to the big world yet, so I’m still learning. I need someone who understands what it takes to keep my mind working – I’ll need plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation as I grow.
