About Mate
Mate is a young, energetic boy with a love for adventure and tennis balls-he'll happily carry one around wherever he goes! While he can be a little anxious at times, Mate will thrive in a calm, structured home that can offer him routine and gentle guidance. He's still learning the basics and will need a patient owner willing to start from scratch with his training.
Mate must be allowed indoors and treated as part of the family, and crate training is highly recommended to give him a quiet space to relax. He sometimes forgets his size and loves to jump up for cuddles, often trying to sit on your lap! Mate will benefit from having someone home with him during his first week to help him settle into his new environment.
He's best suited to a home with teens or older, respectful children-any younger kids must meet him first to ensure a good match. Mate has lived with other dogs before and, while he can be a bit pushy at first, he does settle and become playful. A meet-and-greet with any resident dogs is essential.
