About Dozer
Hi there, I'm Dozer.
I recently celebrated my 5th birthday. Birthdays are usually happy occasions, but this one felt a little bittersweet. You see, I've spent most of my life waiting in shelter care for a family to call my own. Five birthdays is a long time to wait for someone to choose you.
I'm a Border Collie x Mastiff, which means I have a unique blend of intelligence, loyalty, and plenty of love to give. My favourite thing in the world is curling up on the lounge with my people. If you're looking for a devoted companion who enjoys quiet time at home, I might be the perfect match.
I absolutely adore people, but I'm also an independent soul. Sometimes life can feel a bit overwhelming, and when that happens, I like to find a peaceful spot where I can relax and recharge. My ideal home would have a securely fenced backyard where I can enjoy some sunshine and downtime. I'll also need a setup that keeps me safely away from the main entrance, as I've been known to sneak out if an opportunity presents itself.
When I first came into care, I was quite underweight and never knew where my next meal was coming from. Because of that, I can sometimes feel anxious around food and appreciate having my own space during meal times. I'm still learning that food will always be there for me. I also have a habit of thinking that whatever you're eating looks much better than what's in my bowl, so I'll need to be fed separately from my family to make sure everyone can enjoy their meals in peace.
I also have hip dysplasia, which means I'll need ongoing pain management to help keep me comfortable. In return, I promise to be your loyal best friend, expert couch cuddler, and biggest supporter.
I've spent five years watching other dogs leave for their forever homes while I patiently waited for mine. Maybe you're the person I've been waiting for.
Love,
Dozer x
