About Rocco

Hi, I'm Rocco, nice to meet you! I’m a 1 year old Staffy cross with a big heart, a bright brain, and a very gentle nature. I like to take things in at my own pace and I’m naturally curious about the world around me. I enjoy sniffing, exploring, and quietly figuring things out before jumping in. I’ve spent my whole life in a shelter and while I really like the people here, I’ve never known what it feels like to have a home of my own.

I love pottering around the yard, heading out for short walks, and checking out all the interesting smells. I don't have the crazy puppy energy that some of my shelter mates have, I’m more of a calm little explorer. A secure yard with indoor and outdoor access would be perfect for me, especially because I love burying my chews for later and coming back to them when I’m ready.

Toys are very important to me. I’m happy playing on my own and working out my toys, but I also really enjoy gentle playtime with my humans. I’m a smart boy and I like learning new things, especially when I feel safe and supported.

Because I grew up in a shelter, I’m still building strength in my back legs and I’ll need a quieter home to start with. With gentle exercise, patience, and encouragement, I’m expected to keep getting stronger and more confident. I’d love someone who enjoys helping me grow and cheering me on along the way.

I’d be happiest in a home with older kids, and I’d prefer to be the only pet so I can give all my love to my people. Kennel life has been a bit tough for me, and I’m so ready for a calm, loving forever home where I can relax, play, and finally feel like I belong.
