About Ottawa

Hi, I’m Ottawa! I’m a 4-month-old female American Staffordshire Terrier x Golden Retriever with a big heart, a curious nose, and puppy energy to spare. I can be a nervous when meeting new people, so I’ll need slow, positive introductions to new faces, places, and experiences. I’m learning that the world is full of exciting things, and with gentle guidance, I can grow confident and curious!

I’d love indoor access to relax, feel safe, and snooze in a comfy bed close to my new family, as well as a secure, fenced yard to sniff, explore, and burn off all my puppy energy.

For now, I’d do best as the only dog in the home while I build confidence and settle into my new environment. Everything still feels a little new to me, and a calm, predictable space will help me feel safe. Once I’m feeling secure, I may be able to enjoy slow, carefully managed introductions to other calm, well-matched dogs and other animal.

I’d do best in a home with children 15 years and up who can be patient and help me navigate my new world. Daily routines, gentle guidance, and positive experiences will help me thrive — and in return, I’ll be a playful, loving, and loyal companion ready for adventures, and fun-filled puppy moments!
