About Shanks
My name is Shanks and I'm a Centralian Carpet Python (or you might hear people call me a Bredli). My earthy tones and markings help me blend in with the desert environment. I'm found naturally in the deep rock crevices, caves and tree hollows of Central Australia.
I love being a solar panel and lounging around my enclosure. I'm still getting used to handling so will need someone confident and experienced to help me come out of my shell more.
I was pretty.... rotund... when I first came to RSPCA and they have put me on a diet and have been trying to get me to exercise! Sometimes that makes me a bit hangry, but if you understand snake behaviour you'll pick up what I'm putting down!
My cage needs to come with all the amenities of a hide, water bowl, sticks to climb, UV light and heat lamp. I am a pretty big dude so need a suitably sized enclosure that I can stretch out in.
