About Ruby

Hello there! My name is Ruby, and I’m a 7-year-old cat with a very special way of getting around. You see, I was born with something called cerebellar hypoplasia — that’s a fancy way of saying my balance isn’t the best. I sometimes wobble when I walk or tip over when I get excited, but I promise it doesn’t stop me from being full of love, curiosity, and purrs!

I’m looking for a forever home that understands my special needs and can give me the safe, cozy life I deserve. Slippery floors are tricky for me, so I do best in a single-level home with lots of carpet or rugs where my paws can get a good grip. Stairs are a bit scary, and I can’t really handle them well — but I’m perfectly happy exploring one floor and finding sunny spots for naps.

I’d like to be your one and only pet, please — dogs and other cats make me nervous, and I prefer peace and quiet. I do enjoy gentle company, though! I’d be happy living with kind, calm children over 12 who understand how to move slowly around me and give me time to find my balance.

Before I move in, my future family will need to chat with a veterinarian about my condition. It’s not painful, I just need a bit of extra understanding and a safe environment to call my own.

I may wobble a little, but my heart is steady and full of love. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will greet you with soft purrs and a brave little spirit, I think we might be the perfect match.
